DJ Hero Turntable Kit From £59.99

Band Hero is a spin-off from the Guitar Hero series, and is structured similarly to Guitar Hero 5 with the drop-in/drop-out and in-song instrument and difficulty change menus, plus additional new multiplayer modes. As this has been designed for a more mainstream audience, the songs are from more family-friendly artists (although Poison make an appearance with "Every Rose Has Its Thorn").

Game Group Sale

After proving a massive success across multiple platforms, it should come as no surprise to see a sequel to Marvel: Ultimate Alliance in the shape of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 – I can imagine it took absolutely ages to come up with that title though!

The game features a whole range of different characters from the Marvel Comics universe, including old favourites like Spider-Man and Hulk, and the story follows two story arcs from the series' "Secret War" and "Civil War" (which should be recognisable to long-time fans).

Ice Age 3: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs is a video game aimed squarely at younger gamers, as it’s based on the fairly recent film of the same name – and features pretty much all of the characters, from Manny the mammoth to Sid the sloth, as well.

Along with a decent single-player campaign, you’ll also find some multiplayer mini-games to take part in – nothing too difficult here, but enough to keep young ‘uns entertained for a while.

Ice Age 3: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs From £15.73

To the surprise of absolutely nobody, Guitar Hero 5 is on the way in the middle of September. The slightly irritating thing is that yet another Guitar Hero title, in the form of Band Hero, will be coming out in November – and is essentially the same thing, but with different songs.

85 tracks from 83 artists are available to play along with, and there will also be special appearances from Johnny Cash and Carlos Santana. Many more will also be for sale via download, with a Rolling Stones live pack planned to be the first release.

Rock Band took the brilliance of the Guitar Hero series and turned the notch up to 11, with drums and vocals thrown in with the trusty old guitar. Although Guitar Hero cheap games now do the same thing, it was Rock Band that started off the move towards complete band interaction through the use of plastic instruments.

A core of 58 playable tracks are included on the disc, with 51 of them being master recordings. PlayStation 3 and XBox 360 owners also have the ability to download a shedload of additional songs, either on an individual tracks basis or as packs and albums.
