Although Fight Night Round 4 has since been released, Fight Night Round 3 is still one of the best boxing games around. In 2006, the graphics and gameplay of this were regarded very highly indeed – though have since been surpassed by the sequel (as you'd expect).

Some gamers were unhappy with the amount of product placement, particularly the Burger King, but to be honest it's not something that should stop you from trying out a brilliant virtual version of the "Sweet Science".

Argos are selling this PlayStation 3 title for £7.79 – click here for more details.

MotorStorm: Pacific Rift £9.95

One of the best PS3 launch titles was MotorStorm, so it's not that much of a surprise to see a sequel appearing in the form of MotorStorm: Pacific Rift. What might be a little surprising is a move away from desert environments to interactive islands – but this ends up making for a much better experience anyway, which can only be a good thing.

All seven vehicles classes (bikes, ATVs, buggies, rally cars, racing trucks, mud pluggers, and big rigs) are back, and there's also now the option to race on monster trucks. Also, up to 12 players can compete against each other online across a total of 16 different tracks.

The Godfather II From £12.73

The Godfather II is based on the 1974 crime drama film "The Godfather: Part II". It's a third-person shooter, with some strategy aspects included as well – as your character battles rival families and take over businesses, you eventually become a "Don" ruling over many cities.

Many of the brilliant features from The Godfather: The Game are back alongside some new ones – including a 16 player online mode. Robert Duvall reprises his role of Tom Hagen from the movie as well, which is a nice touch.

The original Half-Life was easily one of the best PC games of all time, and now the sequel is here with Half-Life 2: The Orange Box. This marks the very first time that the series has appeared on a Sony console too, which is nice.

It's well worth picking this title up, by the way, as you're getting five games in one. Not only are there Half-Life 2 and two expansion packs, but one of the best games of 2007 in Portal. Also included is team-based multiplayer Team Fortress 2.

UFC 2009: Undisputed £17.99

UFC 2009: Undisputed is a mixed martial arts video game that features properties and fighters from the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Although previous titles based on the sport have been average at best, thankfully this has turned out to be the MMA equivalent of FIFA or Pro Evolution – completely unmissable, in other words.

Over 100 personalties are included, with over 80 different fighters from all five weight classes and non-fighters like broadcasters Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan – as well as announcer Bruce Buffer (half-brother of Michael "Let's get ready to rumble!" Buffer).

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed – Ultimate Sith Edition £19.99

In something that's becoming a regular occurrence, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is being re-released with all of the downloadable content that has been made available thus far (plus some brand new stuff) as Star Wars: The Force Unleashed – Ultimate Sith Edition.

Although critics have been divided over whether to recommend this or not, I say screw them – it's actually one of the best Star Wars games in quite some time, with a gripping storyline and some wonderfully innovative fighting elements.

Click here to pre-order the XBox 360 release, or click here for the PlayStation 3 version – both of which are £19.99 each at CoolShop.

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin £11.95

Where the original F.E.A.R. set the benchmark for other first-person horror titles to aspire to, its sequel sadly doesn’t provide that much in the way of originality. That’s not to say that F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin is a bad game though – far from it in fact.

Gamers of a nervous disposition should probably avoid this like the plague, as the sheer number of frights is liable to give them a heart attack! Don’t be put off by some average-looking graphics either, because underneath them you’ll find a very worthwhile addition to anyone’s collection.
