Since Woolworths fell into administration, many stores have felt a knock-on effect – this is down to Woolies Entertainment UK distribution company also being handed over to administrators.
The reason I’m mentioning this is that Devil May Cry 4 is available for £11.99, but you won’t be able to order it online. Instead, I’m afraid to say you’ll have to brave our wonderful weather and venture outside (terrifying, I know).
Instore at Zavvi you can get either the PlayStation 3 or XBox 360 releases for this price, where you can find stock.
There’s a Blockbuster Christmas clearance on at the moment, both online and off.
Chances are that if something’s out of stock on their site, then you’ll more than likely be able to get it instore.

Is Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare one of the best games in the last couple of years? In terms of online multiplayer titles, the answer is a resounding "YES!". I doubt you’ll have as much fun shooting the crap out of people this side of a lengthy jail term.
The single player campaign is also very good, but it’s definitely the multiplayer mode that will keep you coming back for more.
To get the PlayStation 3 version click here, or for the XBox 360 release click here – both are £29.99 each at Argos. Incidentally both feature in multibuy discounts (the PS3 release in a 2 for £50 and the 360 version in a 2 for £45 offer), so if you find anything else of interest you’ll get the game for even less.
UPDATE: I’m bumpin this up a bit, as it’s still the same price – and is oddly still the cheapest, even though the game has been out for over a year!
The deals are coming thick and fast now, with just a couple of weeks of Christmas shopping left. I think this year I’ve done nearly all of mine online as you really can’t beat some of the deals we’ve been getting recently.
Anyway, I digress – Fallout 3 has appeared in Gamestation’s "deal of the day" offer. There are conflicting reports that this price will actually last longer than 24 hours, but I’ve been unable to confirm this (order it now to be on the safe side!).
Click here to buy the standard PlayStation 3 version, or click here for the standard XBox 360 release – both of which are currently £19.56 each.
Instore you can also get the respective console Collector’s Edition releases for £24.46 each. These contain a copy of the game, an artbook, a "making of" DVD, and a Vault-Boy Bobble-Head figurine, all of which are stored in a metal lunchbox.
It looks as though there’s something of a Game Christmas sale on at the moment, as there are some very reasonably priced items across a few platforms.
No idea how long these will last, but I always recommend snapping up cheap games the second you see ‘em anyway!

The latest online retailer to hop on to the "deal of the day" bandwagon is Gamestation. Every day in the run up to Christmas, a new offer will appear – Monday and Tuesday’s weren’t particularly good, but today’s is.
Battlefield: Bad Company sees you thrust into the middle of a fictional war between the United States and the Russian Federation, where you’ll lead a squad of AWOL soldiers into battle against Russians, Middle East Coalition troops, and Legionnaire mercenaries.
Click here to get the PlayStation 3 version, or click here for the XBox 360 release – both of which are £19.99 each (until noon on Thursday the 4th of December, I believe).
It seems that with every passing week a new PS3 bundle appears, and at a lower price to boot. I suppose that with XBox 360 sales going through the roof, Sony are perhaps making some sort of unofficial price cut to retailers – this isn’t 100% fact, but it might explain why we’re seeing so many of them.
The catalogue of decent titles is growing by a huge amount on a monthly basis, and with Home being released soon (probably) I’m quite sure that sales of the console will rise over time.
Play.com are selling three PlayStation 3 80GB console, with two games and a Blu-Ray movie, packages for £289.99 each:
PlayStation 3 with copies of Far Cry 2 and Little Big Planet, plus 300 on Blu-Ray
PlayStation 3 with copies of Little Big Planet and Need For Speed: Undercover, plus I Am Legend on Blu-Ray
PlayStation 3 with copies of Little Big Planet and Tom Clancy’s EndWar, plus Batman Begins on Blu-Ray
Also at Play.com you can still get a PlayStation 3, with three games, for £299.99. FIFA 09, Little Big Planet, and MotorStorm: Pacific Rift are the A-list games included in this one.
Tom Clancy’s EndWar is a real-time strategy game set in the year 2020 during the outbreak of World War 3. With resources growing scarce, every nation must look after themselves – which leads to a full-scale land war between superpowers…
Interestingly this can be completely controlled through voice commands alone, but you can also use a standard controller (it just makes you feel less involved). Single player campaigns are not all that great, but the online multiplayer "Theatre Of War" is brilliant.
Click here to buy the XBox 360 version for £19.99 from Play.com, but be quick as this is a special "deal of the day" offer. PS3 owners can get their release for the higher price of £27.39 from ShopTo by clicking here.
It’s fair to say that in recent years WWE titles haven’t really changed that much. WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2009 still looks fairly similar, but if you look beneath the bonnet you’ll discover there’s more to do than ever before.
An updated roster, with new outfits and gimmicks, is a given – it’s everything else that’s of importance here though. For the first time ever you can compete in an Inferno match (where fire surrounds the ring), the tag team matches have been completely revamped, and there are four new game modes (Create-A-Finisher, Road to WrestleMania, Career, and a multiplayer season).
The Hut are selling the PlayStation 2 version for £17.73 – click here for more details. The same retailer has the DS release (click here) at the same price, whilst over at Amazon you can pick up the PS3 version for £18.49 by clicking here.
