As far as action role-playing games go, it's fair to say that Fallout 3 is definitely one of the best – and with this Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition, it's even bigger and longer than before now as well (impressive, when you consider it was 60+ hours originally!).

This contains the game, along with all five downloadable content packs that have been released. "Operation: Anchorage", "The Pitt", "Broken Steel", "Point Lookout" and "Mothership Zeta" are all very worthwhile additions to an already fantastic experience.

After Resident Evil 4 blew everyone away with its addictiveness and gripping storyline, big things were expected from Resident Evil 5 – not only was it the first in the series to appear on the XBox 360, but the PlayStation 3 as well. Thankfully it didn't disappoint either, with some of the best graphics ever seen and frantic gameplay.

The Resident Evil 5: Limited Edition release contains a copy of the game in a special steelbook case, along with a 60-minute in-depth "making of" DVD. There's also some downloadbale content to buy on the PlayStation Store, in the form of a competitive multiplayer mode titled "Versus".

Guitar Hero: Metallica is the second game in the Guitar Hero series to focus on the career and songs of one group following Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. As it's based on Guitar Hero: World Tour, both the individual guitar and full band kits are supported – which means you can take on the role of your favourite band member.

28 Metallica songs are featured along with 21 from other groups that are personal favourites and influences from over the years, including those that appeared on their Garage Inc. album. Please note that other downloadable content is unusable, although the "Death Magnetic" pack will work.

Amazon are selling the Wii version for £17.99 – click here for more details. XBox 360 owners can click here to get their release for the same price from the same retailer, whilst PlayStation 3 gamers can click here to get theirs for an identical price from HMV.

If the names of such musical artists as Miley Cyrus and the Jonas brothers mean absolutely nothing to you, then chances are high that the Disney: Sing It franchise won't be your cup of tea – both are featured a number of times between the two games released thus far.

Both Disney: Sing It and Disney: Sing It – Pop Hits are your standard SingStar clones, with the aim being to hit as many notes as perfectly as you can for as long as each song lasts. The latter also has trophy support, for all of those trophy hunters out there!

Click here to get a PlayStation 3-exclusive Disney: Sing It and Disney: Sing It – Pop Hits double pack, with two microphones, for £14.95 from MyMemory.

Many of the reviews for Tomb Raider: Underworld have been mixed, but what I think everyone can agree on is how good the game looks. The crappy camera angles and dodgy combat system let it down a bit, although you soon forget this minor annoyances and discover a title that's well worth adding to your collection.

Whilst XBox 360 owners have an additional treat or two, in the form of a couple of extra chapters (titled "Beneath The Ashes" and "Lara's Shadow"),  there's no sign of either appearing on the PlayStation 3 I'm afraid – unless Sony beg and plead, I suppose.

Katamari Forever is the newest entry in the fun Katamari Damacy series, and is the very first to appear on the PlayStation 3. Nothing much has changed gameplay wise, with the object still being to roll over and collect as many items as possible – which is a good thing, as anything different would have seemed out of place.

A mix of 30 levels are included, with some being brand new and others being souped up versions from other Katamari titles. Sadly there is no online multiplayer mode, but there is an offline one – which I'm sure you'll be playing for some time to come.

Disney Sing It is a karaoke video game which features a number of songs by Disney-affiliated artists, as well as those from shows and films such as the High School Musical series – although there's sadly no classics included (meaning no Lion King, etc.).

Oddly the packaging states that downloadable content is also available, but apparently Disney have changed their mind and decided not to release any. The cynic in me says this is so they can keep on doing packs like this in the future, but that could just be me!

ShopTo have Disney Sing It, with two microphones (for use on the PlayStation 3), available for £9.85 from ShopTo – for more information, click here.

James Cameron's Avatar: The Game is based on the film of the same name, and uses the same technology to be displayed in stereoscopic 3D – the only drawback being that to get the full effect you'll need a 3D TV (which won't be out until later this year at the earliest).

It's actually almost like having two games in one, as you start off as a marine communications officer before turning into your avatar – at which point you can decide to continue as one or the other. As this has more in common with RPG's than anything else, younger gamers may get bored easily (something to consider if you were thinking about Christmas, etc).

Quantum of Solace is the first 007 title to be released on the current generation of gaming consoles, and is based on the film of the same name – as well as incorporating parts of Daniel Craig's first Bond movie, "Casino Royale".

This is primarily a first-person shooter, though at times the view switches to a third-person perspective to emphasise that you are Bond. The online multiplayer mode is probably the best thing about this game, as the single player missions are neither particularly interesting nor exciting enough to warrant repeat plays.

Hannah Montana: The Movie is a game based on the film of the same name, surprisingly enough, which is aimed squarely at younger gamers of the female variety – although I'm sure that some males will also enjoy riding horses and designing outfits.

Whilst not exactly the most challenging of games, it's certainly something which will keep them entertained for some time. It's also got some very easy achievement points or trophies, if this is important to you!

Click here to get the PlayStation 3 release for £4.95 from ShopTo, or click here to get the Wii version for £9.98 from Gameplay. The DS release (click here) is the same price from Amazon, whilst the XBox 360 version (click here) is much higher at £19.98 from Blockbuster.
