WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2009 From £17.61

Although the last game wasn’t all that great, WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2009 improves in many areas – although it’s still not as good as the classic No Mercy on the Nintendo 64!

This version includes a brand-new Inferno match (which has fire surrounding the ring), a completely revamped tag team match, and four modes to compete in (Create-A-Finisher, Road to WrestleMania, Career, and a multiplayer season). Rosters and costumes have been updated too, as have movesets.

Game are selling the PSP version for £17.61 – click here for more details. Meanwhile, over at Play.com you can get either the PlayStation 3 (click here) or XBox 360 (click here) releases for £17.99 each.

Rounding things off is the Wii version for £19.56, again at Game. Click here to buy it.

When the PSP first came out it was slightly chunky and a bit clumsy to hold, so Sony took a leaf from Nintendo’s book and re-designed it to be much more user-friendly – hence the birth of the PSP Slim And Lite.

Whilst there aren’t all that many A-list titles available for the handheld console, there are enough to keep most gamers entertained for a while. There are one or two exclusives as well, such as God Of War: Chains Of Olympus and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII.

Click here to buy a PSP Slim And Lite, with two games, for £107.59 from Argos (click on the "Special offers" tab and it’s "Offer 5"). The two titles are the aforementioned God Of War: Chains Of Olympus and Tekken: Dark Resurrection, by the way.

The Choices UK games clearance has been on for a couple of weeks now, but there wasn’t really anything worth mentioning in it – a few crappy PC titles and some cheapo PS2 games basically.

However, they’ve added some very decent titles to it today across all platforms. Be quick though, as stock is low and running out faster than a very fast thing.

Click here to see the full list.

It looks as though there’s something of a Game Christmas sale on at the moment, as there are some very reasonably priced items across a few platforms.

Sony PSP 3000 (With FIFA 09) £127.22

Although the Nintendo DS has a much better catalogue of games available for it, the PSP isn’t all that bad – it’s sort of like a portable PlayStation One, which can also interact with your PS3. Plus the Sony PSP 3000 comes with a built-in microphone and improved screen, so it’s slightly better than previous models.

FIFA 09 is the latest, and probably greatest, of the football series to hit the small screen. For the very first time you can now play the "Be A Pro" mode on your handheld, which allows you to follow the career of one player over the course of a few seasons.

Click here to get the Sony PSP 3000, with FIFA 09, for £127.22 from Amazon.

Need For Speed: Undercover From £19.99

It’s sad to say that Need For Speed: Undercover isn’t anywhere close to being as good a racing game as others on the market today. The selection of vehicles to choose from is good and the handling is excellent, but it’s far too easy to beat the AI and the live-action cutscenes just look plain stupid.

I should mention now that ShopTo are running a special offer until 1pm on the 28th of November, where you can get either the PlayStation 3 (click here) or XBox 360 (click here) releases for £27.99 each.

ShopTo also have the PS2 (click here) and PSP (click here) versions available for the lower price of £19.99 each.

Anybody who’s ever played a football management simulation will tell you that they can quite literally take over your life. Marriages and relationships have ended because of them, and it’s even been rumored that real-life club managers use them to look for new players!

Football Manager is the undoubted king of this world, and every new season brings a brand new release with fully updated transfers and club data. Football Manager Handheld 2009 is a condensed version of the PC game, which for the first time includes a 2D match engine.

Click here to get this PSP title for £17.73 from The Hut.

FIFA 09 From £14.93

As a longtime semi-fanboy of Pro Evolution, it almost pains me to say that this year’s FIFA is much better than PES 2009: Pro Evolution Soccer. Konami simply haven’t done enough to improve on the last one, whereas E.A. appear to be listening to what the fans want to see.

The "Be A Pro" mode is a great little idea, where you take control of one player throughout his career and help build up his stats. Combined with some excellent online multiplayer play, as well as the standard career options, this is football gaming at its best.

Click here to get the PS2 version for £14.93 from Asda. They also have the DS (click here) and PSP (click here) releases for the same price.

Wii owners can get their version for £17.73 from The Hut by clicking here, whilst HMV are selling the PlayStation 3 (click here) and XBox 360 (click here) releases for £24.99 each.

It was on the cards since last year, but FIFA has finally surpassed Pro Evolution Soccer in the fight for top football game. FIFA 09 is great fun in either single player or with a friend, and runs much faster than I remembered it did previously.

Goalkeepers have improved tremendously, and actually appear to want to save the ball – which has always been something of a problem in the past! The online mode is as good as ever, and "Be A Pro" has been extended to run for a total of four seasons.

If you fancy the PlayStation 2 version, click here to get it for £14.97 from Amazon – click here to get the PSP release for the same price from the same retailer.

Also at Amazon you can buy the PS3 (click here), Wii (click here), or XBox 360 (click here) versions for £22.97 each.
