Need For Speed: Prostreet is a good racing game, but it must be said that all of the cars have shoddy performance and unrealistic handling. It’s also a pity that the makers decided to move away from the traditional roots of street racing.
What I will say is that the online multiplayer mode is quite possibly one of the best around, as it’s much more integrated into the game than ever before and offers a greater level of competition as well.

For the first time in absolutely ages, FIFA has surpassed Pro Evolution – at least, that’s my opinion after playing both (albeit on the PS3, so other console versions could differ).
It’s difficult to put my finger on why it’s won this time, but FIFA 09 just "feels" more realistic than ever before. Sadly, PES 2009: Pro Evolution Soccer still has the faults of the last one, right down to the laggy online mode.
Click here to get the PlayStation 2 version for £17.98, or click here to buy the Wii release for £24.98 – both of which are supplied by Amazon. Meanwhile over at Game you can get the DS (click here) or PSP (click here) versions for £17.99 each.
PSP owners complained for some time that the original design was a bit too chunky, so Sony went down the same route Nintendo did with the DS and released a slimmer version.
The PSP Slim And Lite was 33% lighter and 22% slimmer, but this wasn’t enough – so they also manufactured the Sony PSP 3000. It has an improved LCD screen and built-in microphone, and also has slightly modified buttons (start and select have changed from semi-circles to ovals).
Gamestation have two decent bundles available for £149.89:
PSP 3000 with FIFA 09 plus another selected title (from Buzz! Quiz Master, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, LocoRoco, Need For Spped: Carbon, Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, and Tekken: Dark Resurrection)
PSP 3000 with Lego Batman: The Video Game plus another selected title (from Buzz! Quiz Master, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, LocoRoco, Need For Spped: Carbon, Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, and Tekken: Dark Resurrection)
It’s fair to say that with any of the Tiger Woods PGA Tour games you know exactly what you’re going to get – namely the best golfing experience you can have without spending a bomb on green fees.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 is the newest entry in the series, and comes with one or two new additions. The biggest is probably the appearance of Tiger Woods’ real-life coach Hank Haney who pops up to offer advice if and when you need it.

PlayStation 3 owners can get their release for £24 instore at Asda, and Wii gamers can click here to get their version for £24.98 from Amazon. Finally, if you have an XBox 360 you can click here to buy this title for £27.99 from ShopTo.
Phew!
The makers of Tony Hawk’s Project 8 have done something a little cunning with the title. This is actually the eighth game in the series, so they’ve put a number 8 in it! Hilarious! Ahem.
XBox 360 owners can rejoice in the fact that their version has a full online multiplayer mode not found on any other release, which is a trifle odd when you consider that the series began on the original PlayStation (maybe Neversoft have fallen out with Sony, who knows).

If you like puzzle games such as Lumines and Tetris, then Koloomn will be right up your street. This is also known as Kollon in Japan, or Ultimate Block Party in the US (just in case you’ve heard it by a different name).
Rotate four coloured blocks to match them up and cause them to disappear within a set time period, or else they’ll be forced to the top of the screen and you’ll lose. Sad times.

One of the most realistic motorbike experiences you can have, this side of not killing yourself in the process, is with the SBK series of games. SBK 08: Superbike World Championship is the newest addition, and has more to offer than ever before.
Not only are there five racing styles to choose from, as well as six game modes, but there’s also a great little online mode. It’s so good that it’s easy to compare to more well known games like Forza 2, in all honesty.
Click here to buy this PSP title for £15 from Simply Games. Other versions are available for slightly more, including the XBox 360 for £17 from the same retailer (click here) or the PlayStation 3 release for £19.99 from Woolworths (click here).
