How does a tie happen in the NFL?

In the NFL, a tie can occur when both teams have the same score at the end of four quarters. In the event of a tie, an additional 15-minute overtime is played. If neither team scores in this period, the game ends in a tie. However, during the regular season, if a team scores a field goal on the first possession, the other team gets an opportunity to score. If they fail, the game ends in a tie.

How does a tie happen in the NFL?

In the NFL, a tie can occur when both teams have the same score at the end of regulation time. If this happens, a 10-minute sudden death overtime period is played and the team that scores first wins. However, if neither team scores in this overtime period, the game is declared a tie. This is a relatively rare occurrence with less than 25 ties happening since the NFL introduced the sudden death rule in 1974. It's always a thrilling moment when a game comes down to the wire like this!
