As far as basketball games go, the 2K series is right up there with anything E.A. have to offer. In fact, it would be fair to say that they’re actually often BETTER than NBA Live (insert year here).

NBA 2K7 came out in 2006, so the rosters will be quite old - however, the price is low enough to warrant a purchase to get to grips with how it plays.

Click here to buy this XBox 360 game for £4.99 from Game. Or you could click here to get the XBox version for £7.98 (as long as you spend £15 or more, otherwise it’s £9.97 delivered) from Amazon, or click here to buy the PlayStation 3 release for £10.99 from WH Smith.

Tomb Raider: Legend serves as a reboot for the franchise, as any story arcs present in previous games in the series have been changed significantly. That’s what happens when you change developers.

The XBox 360 version has better graphics than any other release, which I suppose is to be expected really - it’s the only next-generation console you can get it on!

The Game Collection have this available for £5.95 - for more information, click here.

Just to clear up any confusion, XBox 360 title Ninja Gaiden II is completely unrelated to the NES game of the same name. It’s actually the sequel to Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword on the DS.

Ryu Hayabusa is controlled from a third-person perspective and can have his weapons upgraded by buying new ones or finding them. Travel around the world fighting enemies, finding keys and solving puzzles as you go in order to progress.

Beijing 2008 £24.99

Beijing 2008 is the official game of the Olympics - yes it’s just finished, but this is still great fun if you love button bashing! Technically this is the second game based on the 2008 event, with Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games being the first.

32 nations are included to choose from, as well as a total of 38 different events to compete in. A career mode is available for the first time in eight years, and for the very first time you can now play online too.

Game have the PlayStation 3 (click here) and XBox 360 (click here) versions available for £24.99 each.

Phantasy Star Universe is a hack and slash role-playing game similar to the Phantasy Star Online games, and is playable in both a persistent online network (for £6.99 a month) and a single-player story mode.

The single-player mode should last you a good 40 hours, so if you’re really not interested in the online part you don’t need to pay for it. Although it does have many more features when connected to the network.

Click here to buy this XBox 360 title for just £3.95 from The Game Collection. Cheap games like this come recommended if you’re a fan of the series already, or perhaps just want something really cheap to tide you over!

The Guitar Hero games are really something that you have to experience yourself to understand how great they are. It sounds a bit crappy pushing some buttons in time to music, but in reality is one of the best gaming experiences you’ll probably ever have.

Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock has been out for a little while now, so the prices have started to go down a bit. Guitar Hero: World Tour should be out later this year, and will be the first in the series to use drums and a microphone (like Rock Band does already).

Instore at HMV you can get either the PlayStation 3 or XBox 360 versions of Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock (with a wireless guitar) for £49.99. Alternatively, Gamestation have the PS3 release for the same price (click here) if you can’t be bothered going out!

Wii owners might like to know that they can also get this for the same price as part of the Gamestation deals we featured t’other day.

As Space Chimps is a game based on a film, you can pretty much presume it’s average. However it’s a kids film, so they may very well enjoy this.

Ham III, who is the grandson of the first chimpanzee in space, teams up with Luna and Titan on a space adventure, where they must journey to an unknown extraterrestrial planet.

Play.com are selling the Wii (click here) and XBox 360 (click here) versions of this game for £17.99 each.

When the very first Lego Star Wars game was released, a new phenomenon was born. Since then we’ve had a couple more Lego Star Wars titles, Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures, and the next one due out is Lego Batman: The Video Game.

Players will be able to fight on land, sea, and in the air uaing any number of recognisable vehicles - from the Batmobile through to the Batwing. All the characters from the actual Lego Batman series are included as well as some new ones such as Clayface, Man-Bat, Mad Hatter, and Batgirl.

Click here to preorder the XBox 360 version or click here for the PlayStation 3 release, both of which are £29.99 each at Amazon.

Gamestation deals are quite regular, especially in their stores - although they’ve become slightly worse since Game bought them, but I suppose that’s to be expected.

For the first time in the series you can choose to race on motorcycles, which adds an extra element to an already fantastic game. The new weather conditions make it a tad more realistic than before too.
