In most games with the option, you can choose whether to play a solo mission or a two-player variation - in Army Of Two you have no choice but to work with a partner. I’d highly suggest getting a friend to play, as the computer is fairly crap.
If it’s not enough for you to defeat a whole heap of baddies, take it online and battle against other teams of players from all over the world via the wireless network.

When you discover that the world is under the greatest threat that it’s ever known, it’s your job to convince everyone that the threat is real. To do this you have to travel across the universe - which inevitably means that you’ll be encountering some nasty bastards along the way.
There’s a very good storyline in Mass Effect, which keeps the plot ticking along nicely. Strange that should be seen as a good point, but sadly most games are thrown together with little thought for a story that makes sense.

WarTech: Senko No Ronde thrusts you into the future where us humans have colonised new galaxies and Earth has become a planet mined for its natural resources. I imagine it’s probably set in the year 2056 or something - and I can also bet that it won’t come true (heck, we should all have flying cars and robot butlers by now!).
This mixes elements of beat-em-ups and shoot-em-ups to make some sort of new gaming genre, which I’ll call shat-em-up. Additionally, you can battle somebody else anywhere in the world via XBox Live. Lucky you.

Bioshock is a living, unique and unpredictable gaming experience like no other on the XBox 360. The fact that it’s set underwater may seem a little bit strange, but once you’ve started playing it all makes more sense - thank goodness.
It just so happens to be one of the best titles available for the console as well, probably because of its uniqueness. Either that or the expensive advertising campaign that was launched before th game came out!
Asda are selling this title for £11.93 - click here for more details.
Incidentally, you may be able to get Bioshock for £10 instore at Currys, but it may be limited to certain stores (i.e. stock is low).
One of the best driving games of the year so far has to be Race Driver: Grid. With some truly fantastic graphics and very realistic handling, this is definitely up there with the Project Gotham Racing and Gran Turismo series’.
Take your cars out onto the streets and race around beautiful tracks in Europe, America and Japan - you can also race someone else anywhere in the world via XBox Live, which is nice.

If you can remember Turok on the Nintendo 64, you probably have memories of it being quite a good cross between Jurassic Park and Call Of Duty. The newest title in the series continues this theme, but is sadly not as good as other first person shooters available on the market.
Playing as Jason Turok, your mission is to take down a war criminal - your former mentor, Roland Kane. Set on a planet inhabited by Kane and his soldiers, use your elite training to overcome not only them but the other creatures that populate the environment.

If you want a game that has no gimmicky elements to it and is just staright-up no-nonsense fun, then consider Table Tennis on the XBox 360. It’s basically table tennis. And that’s it.
With great graphics and a very easy to use control scheme, this title is recommended if you want something that’s a bit addicitve - it’s bloody cheap as well.
Instore at Comet you can pick it up for the crackers price of only £2.99.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 is the sequel to one of the best (in terms of multiplayer playability at least) games of recent times. This time it’s up to your team to stop Alvarez Cabrero from turning Las Vegas into a burning inferno.
This signals the end of Rainbow Six’s time in Vegas, but here’s hoping that they come back again some time in the not too distant future. Rainbow Six: Blackpool would be a good one.

Just Cause, on the XBox 360, was ignored by many as it was presumed to be a crappy clone of Grand Theft Auto. Happily, it’s actually quite good - the similarities to the GTA series are obvious (an opn area where you can choose the order in which you complete assignments), but there’s enough on offer to be a little different.
The story sees you trying to overthrow the corrupt Government of South American state San Esperito. The have been stockpiling Weapons of Mass Desturction, and you must negate the threat this poses to world peace.
Click here to buy this title for £7.99 from The Game Collection - highly recommended, especially at this price although it’s not as good as Grand Theft Auto IV!
The Guitar Hero series is incredibly popular, and with Rock Band on the scene there’s now some genuine competition for it to contend with. Before Guitar Hero IV next year, we are to be treated to two new band-related games.
Guitar Hero: Aerosmith (with a wireless guitar) is the first to be released - this contains some of the band’s greatest hits to play along to, as well as more tunes from others who have either toured or influenced them.
