Race Driver: Grid From £22.49

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed - to do this, simply click here. Thanks for visiting!

After featuring Race Driver: Grid for a good price the other day, it’s my good news to tell you that it’s even lower today. Unless of course you bought it the other day, in which case you may want to lynch me.

This is a driving game in the same mold as Project Gotham Racing or Gran Turismo, except this is much better than both of them. Not only does it look amazing, the cars handle beautifully and excitement factor has been pushed up to 11 - it’s real edge-of-the-pants stuff at times, let me tell you.

Halo 3 £9.99

Halo 3 concludes the story that began back in 2001 with Halo: Combat Evolved on the XBox. As one of the best-selling XBox 360 titles of all-time, chances are high that you either have this already or know someone who does - although saying that, I don’t!

The story centres on the interstellar war between 26th century humanity and a collection of alien races known as the Covenant. You play as cybernetically-enhanced supersoldier Master Chief, as you wage war in defence of humanity alongside Marines and the alien race called Elites.

If there’s one good thing about having two big supermarket chains in this country, it’s that they love a good old price war when anything big comes out to buy.

PES 2009: Pro Evolution Soccer has only been out but a few hours as I type this, and already Asda have slashed the cost quite considerably.

Instore you can get either the PS3 or XBox 360 version for £27, which is pretty darn good. And the offer runs until Sunday the 19th of October, so you have a couple of days to get it in!

It’s fair to say that with any of the Tiger Woods PGA Tour games you know exactly what you’re going to get - namely the best golfing experience you can have without spending a bomb on green fees.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 is the newest entry in the series, and comes with one or two new additions. The biggest is probably the appearance of Tiger Woods’ real-life coach Hank Haney who pops up to offer advice if and when you need it.

Click here to buy the PS2 version for £17.89 from Sendit.com. You can also get the PSP version for the same price from the same retailer by clicking here.

PlayStation 3 owners can get their release for £24 instore at Asda, and Wii gamers can click here to get their version for £24.98 from Amazon. Finally, if you have an XBox 360 you can click here to buy this title for £27.99 from ShopTo.

Phew!

Now let’s just get this clear for a moment - yes, Too Human is nowhere near as good as anyone was expecting but it’s also nowhere near as bad as this price would suggest.

This first installment in a planned trilogy was delayed for absolutely ages, so it is a bit disappointing that it’s a bit flat in places. However, if you enjoy action role-playing games then you’re bound to like this at least a little.

Pop in to John Lewis and pick up this XBox 360 title for only £9.95.

Tony Hawk’s Project 8 From £6.95

The makers of Tony Hawk’s Project 8 have done something a little cunning with the title. This is actually the eighth game in the series, so they’ve put a number 8 in it! Hilarious! Ahem.

XBox 360 owners can rejoice in the fact that their version has a full online multiplayer mode not found on any other release, which is a trifle odd when you consider that the series began on the original PlayStation (maybe Neversoft have fallen out with Sony, who knows).

Click here to get the 360 version for £6.95 from The Game Collection, or click here to get the PSP release for £14.99 from SoftUK.

If you’ve been visiting this site for any period of time, you may have noticed that I’m quite harsh on games based on movies - I only do it to warn everyone about how bad they generally are. I’m aware that some people enjoy crap games, which is fine, but I’d hate to see someone buy one on the expectation of it being good.

The Incredible Hulk is yet another title to add to the ever expanding list of mediocrity. At least Edward Norton provides the voice for Bruce Banner, although I doubt this would be a deal-breaker!

If you fancy the Wii version, click here to buy it for £9.97 from PC World. PlayStation 3 (click here) and XBox 360 (click here) owners can get their releases for £9.99 from Comet, whilst DS players can click here to buy their version for £11.49 from Forget The Rest.

In a nice bit of generosity (I suppose), Microsoft are selling the XBox 360 20GB Hard Drive for the lower price of £12.99.

The offer is open to either Arcade or Core console owners who don’t have a hard drive, as there’s a new update thing coming out in November which needs extra space or something.

Pure £25.79

If standard racing games aren’t your thing, then maybe you should look into the off-road genre - there’s still the driving element, but you can perform all sorts of mad tricks and mental stunts.

Pure is probably the best to appear in quite some time, with vertigo-inducing vertical jumps and spectacular tricks being the order of the day. These, combined with a pumping soundtrack, make this well worth taking a look at.

Viva Piñata: Trouble In Paradise £19.98

After the huge success of Viva Piñata, a sequel was inevitable. Many thought that Viva Piñata: Party Animals would be it, but it was instead a collection of mini-games - however, Viva Piñata: Trouble In Paradise IS a true sequel. Chances are very high that if you were a fan of the first one, that you’ll enjoy this one just as much.

32 new animals have been added to the mix, raising the total to 100. A range of different game modes are now present as well, including one where you can hop in to begin work on a garden (without worrying about running out of money or unlocking items) and another where piñatas can be entered in beauty contests (!) and races.
