New Art Academy Features
Out now on Nintendo 3DS is the New Art Academy release – the next generation of console creativity. Giving artists step-by-step guidance in painting and drawing, New Art Academy takes you through the different steps, techniques and materials, including the newly introduced pastels and coloured pencils. There are introductory and advanced courses to learn from, as well as mini-lessons where you can practice your new skills. Plus, there will be bonus lessons available, for an extra cost, you can even create your own lessons to share with your mates and show your creations off in the 3D art gallery. The game’s materials have been added to, so you can choose from 2B, HB or 2H pencils for drawing, sketching or shading, plus there are more than 100 different coloured pencils, that can be used with the pencil point or flat. The brand-new pastels set offers a rainbow of colours – 130 in total –that can be used in different ways and the 17 fixed paint colours can be mixed, so you can create endless different shades, colours and tints. You can have up to 80 different colours available in the palette at any one time. There are two different erasers, so you can correct any mis-haps, plus charcoal, a white pencil and two different types of brush – one rounded tip and one flat tipped – each with three separate sizes to use. When you’ve finished your masterpiece, why not share it with friends and family using the SpotPass or Nintendo Letter Box function, or using other local communications compatible with 3DS and 3DS XL consoles.
