Resistance: Fall Of Man is a first-person shooter set in an alternate history 1951, and puts you in the role of Sergeant Nathan Hale as he and the human resistance forces attempt to drive a mysterious alien-like invasion out of Britain.

Even though it was a launch title, this still holds up as an excellent FPS – especially in the online multiplayer mode. The sequel, Resistance 2, has since been released (and is every bit as good as the original).
