Street Fighter IV is the first numbered Street Fighter game since "Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike – Fight For The Future" came out in the arcades in 1999. Although the models and backgrounds are rendered in 3D, thankfully the game remains on a traditional 2D plane.

The Street Fighter IV: Collector's Edition box contains a copy of the game, a comic-book style mini strategy guide, a bonus disc (which includes the animated short Street Fighter IV: The Ties That Bind and some trailers), Crimson Ryper and Ryu figurines, and five downloadable character costumes.
