Description and Features
Based in Steelport, the fictional city, the third game in the Saints Row series is being released. The open world adventure and action game is available on the XBOX 360, PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Windows. It centres in on the rival criminal groups of the Syndicate and the Saints, which has been starting again after Saints Row 2, as the Saints have started their media empire with Ultor Corporation and the Syndicate wants to negotiate a business plan with Gat.
The Saints are incarcerated and if they hand over 66% of their revenue to Phillip Loren, the boss of the Syndicate whose also bribed the police to be on their side, then they can live. But, the Saints won't give up that easily, and hence a gun fight ensues. The Syndicate has joined forces with three gangs: Morningstar, Luchadores and the Deckers, run by nasty characters. It's up to the Saints to take back control of Steelport and restart their empire and put an end to the violent activity. With some celebrity voices making appearances, such as Hulk Hogan, Daniel Dae Kim and Sasha Grey, as well as Burt Reynolds, it's an all-star cast.
There are third-person action scenes, driving modes and open world style play too. The aim of the game is to earn points and money, to increase gang respect, buy cars, weapons and use money to buy new scopes, weapons and features. These types of upgrades help the player progress through the game, take over new parts of Steelport and encourage a regular income stream for the gang. Call upon air-strikes, buy handguns and automatic weapons, press the 'awesome' button to high-jack cars, play in single-player mode or online in a co-op mode.
While it is similar to Grand Theft Auto, it's more humorous and allows for a lot more creativity and improvisation, and has a great array of likeable character.
