The Wii console originally existed only in white, but after a couple of years and a Limited Edition Black wii was introduced, they realised that despite everything under the hood being identical, colour really does matter for consumers. The black Wii removed it's Limited Edition label and is now sold as a mainline Wii console and last year saw a 25th Anniversary Mario edition in bright red which really was a Limited Edition as it cannot be bought new anywhere now.
This year Nintendo have opted for another colour choice with the Limited Edition Blue Wii bundled with Mario and Sonic at the London Olympics 2012.
Although not produced in Sonic Blue, the light blue Wii is pleasing on the eye and should prove a popular choice for anyone still in the market for a new Wii Console. It is not currently known how long this Wii bundle in Blue will be made available, however, unlike the Red Wii bundle brought out in 2010, which was hardly in stock anywhere after the new year, it is probably that the product will be available to purchase (stock levels permitting) up to the time of the London Olympics in July 2012.
